March 7, 2010

Well, who would have thought it would happen in the very first month......I'm pregnant!

On Saturday, the husband was due back home in 20 minutes and I figured what the hell, even though I am a 32-day cycle girl, let's give day 28 a chance. Within seconds the test showed two blue lines. As I stood there by the sink I thought, 'wow, that...was fast.' I quickly whipped up a poster and placed the pregnancy test in front of it, waiting for him to come home.

The dog was happy to see him, and it seemed like their greeting was taking forever so I told him to come here for a second. He read the poster and said, 'Really!' I showed him the test and we hugged and kissed. We sat on the couch together and got on the internet to look up a due date and see how many weeks along I was.

March 7, 2010.....4.5 weeks.

Sunday afternoon we went to our friend's house to swim in their pool and the husband asked if he could tell. He is beyond excited. They were so happy for us, hugs all around...she is 14 weeks pregnant herself, with their second.

We have decided to tell our other group of close-knit friends tomorrow at a get-together. My first appointment is July 15 and I hope they do an ultrasound. We are planning to leave from there with the ultrasound to tell his parents the news. I am going to my parent's house this weekend, but I'm not planning on telling them until probably around 10 weeks, so next month.

I keep having wicked cramps and I know all the pregnancy sites say this is totally normal but, what about you guys? What were your early pregnancy symptoms? I would rather hear it from you :)

OMG!! I don't usually comment, but I've been reading a while ;) Super Congrats!! I'm so happy for you!!

As for the cramps- so TOTALLY normal! I had cramps on and off (everyday) from pre-BFP up until about 9 wks (I think) Of course I would freak out each and every time, but it turns out things are fine. Hang in there!

Hooray!

WOOO! Congrats!!
I had SEVERE cramping each time, so much that I swore that I would start my period any second and that I was not really pregnant. Of course, I was. :) Sore breasts were another early sign, and bloating in the evening.
Congrats again!

I am SO happy for you! Yay!
And I had cramps both times too. And horrible fatigue. Also that bloating devan mentioned- it's crazy. You'll look normal in the morning and super out-there by bedtime.

Mel Does Grad School ~ Thanks!!! Good thoughts are appreciated :)

DH ~ I am having that too, bloating...I keep thinking, this is crazy, I'm WAY to early to show WTH :)

Jess ~ Hehe! Thanks! Me TOO!

Rachel, I am super excited for you! I can't believe, after all of these years (from elementary school to now) I finally get to share this moment with you. I continue to be amazed at how the internet can bring old friends back together (at least I hope that is what we are, still friends even after so long.) I look forward to all of your stories and photos.

Congrats to you and hubby. You will be an amazing mother!!!

I'm right there with you - just got a BFP myself and am due around March 8th.

I have cramping off and on, but it sounds like it's normal and nothing to worry about.

Congrats!!

OMG SO EXCITING!!! I was definitely crampy early on in pregnancy, so that I would think, "Oh, I'm not pregnant, here comes my period" before taking the test.
